Troubleshoot link and image widgets
Most widget issues come from unavailable metadata, unsupported URLs, or image upload constraints.
A link did not become a social card
Open the URL in a private browser window. If the page is private, blocked, or outside Squres' supported URL patterns, Squres creates a generic Link widget instead.
A card is missing an image
Some platforms do not expose a public thumbnail or avatar. Squres uses platform icons or generic metadata instead of inventing media.
An upload fails
Check the file type and size. Squres accepts common image formats and processes uploads to WebP. If an image still fails, try exporting a smaller JPEG, PNG, or WebP file and upload again.
A widget is in the wrong place
Make sure you are editing the correct target. Mobile and desktop layouts can have different positions after desktop widgets are enabled.
